Seggelke mouthpiece patches provide unparalleled comfort and security while playing, especially for players seeking a thicker mouthpiece patch. Vandoren Reeds (Traditional, Rue Lepic, V12)

Vandoren Reeds are offered at Amazon-matched prices at the moment. Ever since the permanent closure of the fabled Sam Ash store in midtown Manhattan, Park Woodwind Services has been a highly popular spot among clarinetists to buy reeds (last minute)!

Seggelke Box of 10 Reeds (2 1/2+, 3, 3+, 3 1/2)

Seggelke reeds provide a nice alternative to the Vandoren reeds. Some may find that it feels and sounds like a halfway point between Vandoren reeds and D’Addario reeds. M30D and BD4 players seem to especially like these reeds.

Seggelke Barrels (available in U and T bores)

Seggelke barrels are a great way to be acquainted with Seggelke’s concept. Seggelke clarinets are known for their super resonant and evenness of sound. The U barrel is reamed from the bottom of the bore (under), and the T barrel is reamed from the top. To speak very generally, U is “warmer” and T is very even and shines in the throat tones. U is recommended for a player who wants to experience more Germanic feel/ sound, and T is recommended for North American players who have always wished a bit more to push against in their Buffet Moennig barrel.

Seggelke-bore Vandoren Mouthpiece (M30D, B40 Lyre, BD4)

Seggelke-bore Vandoren mouthpieces are Vandoren mouthpieces finished by Jochen Seggelke with his proprietary reamer. Generally they are more free-blowing and more even than most Vandoren mouthpieces. Seggelke-bore Vandoren mouthpieces are recommended for players who normally try many Vandoren mouthpieces to pick one that seems to be especially free-blowing and colourful.

Seggelke Mouthpieces (ALF, BLF, CLF)

Seggelke mouthpieces are milled from high quality German rod rubber on their fairly new 5-axis CNC. For years many players have argued that milled blanks are superior to injection-molded blanks. In any event Seggelke Mouthpieces are certainly very even, warm, and massive in sound.

ALF

ALF is recommended for jazz musicians/ doublers who seek maximum warmth and mellowness who feel at home with long open facing mouthpieces. Think M30 but more open and less direct in sound. 3.5 Vandoren V12 reeds are recommended to pair with the ALF mouthpiece.

BLF

BLF is the most popular Seggelke mouthpiece so far, and is comparable to a B40. Recommended for players who have found B40s a bit too resistant to play but enjoy the warmth, colours, and articulation of the B40. 3.5 D’Addario Classic or a soft 3.5 V12 is recommended to pair with the BLF mouthpiece. Nearest comparisons: B40, Gleichweit 8-4, Johnston, Kanter, Pyne

CLF

For American players, this is probably the most “familiar” and “easy to play” mouthpiece. CLF is the newest Seggelke mouthpiece offering and is recommended for those who have been searching for Hawkins mouthpieces on eBay. This mouthpiece takes the flexibility of the ALF and pairs it with the beautiful core of the BLF. Nearest comparisons: Hawkins, M13 Lyre, M15 Lyre, D’Addario X0

Bonade Gold-Plated Ligature (regular and inverted)

The Bonade ligatures offered through Park Woodwind Services are shaped to fit Vandoren mouthpieces more accurately than most stock Bonade ligatures and are ready to play. Think warmth of Bonade + evenness of Ishimori.

GF Ligature

GF ligatures are similar to Rovner ligatures in appearance but provide a slightly different playing experience. Recommended to players of all levels and settings who are seeking to round out their sound/ articulation a bit more. If you are seeking an indestructible ligature that feels like a leather ligature but with more even and clearer articulation, definitely give a GF ligature a try!
